A Wetland Themed Kitchen

This is a very special kitchen. I have been holding onto these photos for months, hesitating to post them out of fear that my write up won't do them justice. But the reality is, photos this nice speak for themselves! They need to be shared and now is the time. So without further ado, behold the kitchen of Sue and Ted R:

The plant and animal themed tiles are all Emu Tile, naturally (glaze is "leaf green.) The surrounding field tiles and decorative border tiles were made by another fine Ohio tile maker, Seneca Tile (glazes are "celadon," "eggshell," and "evergreen"). Over the stove is a trio of "Birds on a Branch" tiles:

Above the sink is a pair of Heron tiles. I love how they look with the fancy Seneca border tiles!

The counter isn't granite, but soapstone! Love those drainage channels on either side of the sink. Here is a closer look at each of the two heron tiles:

Little 2"x2" art tiles are sprinkled around the room as well. Here is a nest...

The whole kitchen uses high quality building materials, making the most of a relatively compact footprint:

Small is beautiful! I find this kitchen to be very inspirational, and I am thrilled that my tiles are part of it. Thanks so much, Sue and Ted, for including my work in your project. And an extra big thanks for sharing pictures!
